It’s almost the longest day
of the year! But so often it seems there aren’t enough hours
in a day. Where does the time go?
We are in fact living far longer than people in past years,
and the trend is still increasing. Each year for the last
160 years our average life spans have increased by almost
three months per year. UK figures stand at men 75 and women
79.9; but still we don’t seem to have enough time.
Will we ever have enough time to do all we want? I’m afraid
not. A specialist stated that “life expectancy may, during
the lifetimes of younger people alive today, reach 100 years
or even somewhat more. But this is far from eternity.”
As ever, the Bible has advice for us. First we need to
understand “There is a time for everything, and a season for
every activity under heaven”. We cannot do everything, -
“OKAY – BUT HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT TO DO AND WHEN?” King
Solomon, a godly and wise man, advises, “In all your ways
acknowledge Him (God) and He will direct your paths.”
May this be a month when we commit our days to the Lord,
seek His guidance, then do what is truly important and not
try to do everything!
God bless you
