There is a song with the lines – “What a difference a day makes , 24 hours..”
The events over just a few minutes on the 11th of September have made such a difference to the world in which we live.

The devastation which we have witnessed and the complete disregard for human life are just a visible manifestation of the spiritual battle in which our world is engaged.
The Apostle Paul wrote “ For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers , against the world forces of this darkness , against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly place.”

As Christians we are aware evil is at work , yet words of great assurance were also written by the Apostle as he discussed the forces at work, both spiritual and political , in the world. To the one who trusts in Jesus as Lord Paul wrote . “ Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of HIS might! “

At the time the twin towers were struck , a time all of us will remember , my wife Jane and I were meeting with a person who is quite unwell and seeking to bring them some encouragement. We were stunned by what was unfolding on the TV screen , yet
felt it right to continue sharing.

The word from the Lord this month is to be strong in the Lord and that which He has called you to do keep on doing it!
