March 2000

A question some ask is what is the Epping Forest Elim Church? In fact although the church building has been in Fairfield Road, Epping for some 70 years, I still meet folk who say they did not know there was a Church building there!

The Church is made up of Christians from all manner of backgrounds. Indeed at present the members have religious backgrounds of C.of E. , Roman Catholic , Baptist , Methodist , House Church , Brethren , Pentecostal  as well as those who have no background of faith at all! Whatever your background there is a place for you in this growing Family of Faith.

Although the Epping Forest Elim Church is the youngest congregation in town we seek to stand very firmly on the Bible as our foundation of faith. Stressing that we can all have a personal relationship with God through Faith, that there are clear Moral guidelines we should aim to follow and teach to our children and that anyone can know the Fire of the power of God to guide and help us in our day to day living.

Nationally I notice 31st March sees the cinema release of "The Miracle Maker”, a full-length animated feature film of the story of Jesus. This film written by Christian dramatist, Murray Watts, features the voices of a distinguished cast including Ralph Fiennes, Julie Christie and Richard E Grant. As ever this month there are many activities occurring through the Church, for young and old.
