The Bible encourages us that there are
times and seasons for all things.
"There is a time for everything and a
seasons for every activity under heaven : a time to be born
and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a
time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a
time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh." Eccl.
3 v 1-4.
In Iraq we have recently been seeing a
time of uprooting, tearing down and death. Let us pray that
the season for these things is now over and that the time of
planting, healing and building up can truly begin! Our
prayers being needed both for the Iraqi people and their new
leaders as well as for our own forces who are still involved
in the region. May the Lord bring a new dawn for all
concerned!
This month we welcome Ian Miles, a
student from Regents Bible College, who will be with us
working on a three week placement. I am sure he will have a
fruitful time with us.
Other events this month include a further
Day of Prayer on the 28th May, as well as the launch of a
junior youth event, following the recent Fun Day, on the
21st.
As the writer of Ecclesiastes said, there
is a time for all things and great news if the fact that the
Bible also says "Now is the time of God’s favour, now is
the day of salvation." This month let us take time to
get to know the Lord, either better or for some for the very
first time!
